I’m not one for nostalgia but on occasion it is good to look back, to remind ourselves where we came from. Since a bunch of brave souls in the US pioneered MTB – Gary Fisher and Keith Bontrager to name a few, mountain biking has come a long way. I have fond memories of gazing through the window of my local bike shop (remember them!) and salivating over shiny new mountain bikes, nose pressed against the glass!
The 2018 Malverns Classic gave me that same warm fuzzy feeling and after a twenty year absence the GT Bicycles Malverns Classic Festival returned to Eastnor Deer Park in Gloucestershire. Unfortunately, due to my work commitments, I only had Friday to sample the delights of a packed weekend of events. There’s no better way to spend a June day – bikes, beer and good company. I met so many inspiring and like-minded people who care about the UK MTB scene. A big thank you goes out to everybody that took time to speak with me, it was very much appreciated, including; @trailmaps, @flareclothingco and @jen250london.
